About Me:
It is my desire to work with children, teens, adults, and families. My focus is to create a collaborative, supportive, and safe environment so that individuals and families can feel empowered to make changes toward greater well-being. I believe in the capability to overcome life’s obstacles, and I am dedicated to assisting clients in strengthening relationships, building resilience, and achieving personal growth.
As an eclectic counselor, I utilize various techniques and theories such as, (but not limited to): Bowen Family Systems, Polyvagal, and Cognitive Behavior Therapies. The use of various techniques and theories allows me to provide differentiated and individualized treatment that carefully considers family, community, and cultural contexts. Additionally, I employ play therapy and activity-based interventions for younger clients.
I have had the opportunity to work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma (childhood and adult), sexual abuse, grief/loss, and family issues. As a middle school educator for almost a decade, my experience has allowed clients to develop insight, awareness, and a greater sense of self.
I am a wife and a mother of two children. I enjoy hanging out with my family, singing and recording music, watching Netflix, and travel. In my spare time, I listen to podcasts, read books, articles, or anything to enhance my knowledge and feed my desire for personal growth.
