Counseling for Special Education Students: Parent Directed Special Education Services
(PDSES) Grant

Empowering Families with $1,500 for Counseling Services

At Reach Counseling, we are proud to be an approved provider for the Parent Directed Special Education Services (PDSES) grant. This program provides $1,500 to Texas parents of children receiving special education services to support their child’s mental health and well-being. If your child is enrolled in a Texas public school and has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), this grant can help you access counseling services.

The PDSES grant is a program offered by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to assist families in accessing resources that benefit children receiving special education services. This funding can be used for services such as counseling, therapy, and other supports tailored to your child's unique needs.

Why Choose Reach Counseling?

At Reach Counseling, we specialize in helping children and families thrive. Our therapists are trained in evidence-based practices such as play therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and family-focused interventions. We proudly serve neurodivergent kids and teens and are passionate about helping them discover their strengths while working through challenges. We understand the unique challenges faced by children receiving special education services and work collaboratively with families to create personalized treatment plans.

Our founder, Carrie Manning, began her career as a Special Education Counselor, working in public schools directly with neurodivergent kids and teens. Being neurodivergent means having a brain that is wired differently, which can include conditions such as autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, or learning challenges. This background fuels her passion and commitment to providing affirming care for children with unique needs.

Carrie and her team prioritize partnering with clients and families to focus on what matters most to them without aiming to "fix" or "change" who they are. At Reach Counseling, we believe being different doesn’t mean being less. Differences are not deficits, and we celebrate the unique strengths of every child.

Reach Counseling Offers:
